I’d especially like to see examples of silhouettes, shadows, rim lighting or glow around the edge of your subject, sunsets that use good composition and photos that include lens flare which adds to the image rather than ruining it. So the new contest theme is “Sun” and any photos that have been taken in the sun can be submitted. It also showed you how to create silhouettes photos, capture a glow (rim lighting) around your subject, photograph shadows effectively and eliminate or include lens flare. It covered techniques such as where to position the sun to achieve different effects, how to adjust image exposure and how to photograph sunsets. How to Enter the Next Photo Contest Tilt-shift can be a difficult editing process to get right and the photo has to be taken from just the right angle to make the effect work, but we had some really great submissions for this contest. The contest theme this week was Tilt-Shift and any photos that had been edited with a tilt-shift effect to make them look like a miniature scale model could be submitted.
